The following information contains updates to the University Libraries collections and electronic resources for the second quarter of 2019. We are providing this information to update you about resources you are gaining or losing access to in the collection. We plan to publish collections and electronic resource changes quarterly to keep the campus community updated. Please use the links below to access a title list of additions and cancellations for this time period. Taylor and Francis Chemistry e-books<\/em> – <\/strong>A new set of 336 Taylor & Francis \/ CRC Press chemistry e-books can now be found within our catalog and on the T&F e-book platform<\/a>. Please click here<\/a> for a list of titles. Please contact Sean Kennedy or Ian McCullough for more details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Content\nCaf\u00e9 2 <\/em>\u2013 Catalog enhancement tool has been canceled. You will no\nlonger see book cover images or have access to book reviews from within our\ncatalog. This change is effective 7\/1\/19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Cabell\u2019s\nDirectories \/ Whitelist\u00ad<\/em> \u2013 This database provided journal\npublication information and rankings. It is a service we can no longer afford\nto keep. Access ends effective 8\/30\/19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Knovel\ne-book content <\/em>\u2013 We have reduced our content in the Knovel\ndatabase. We no longer have electronic access to the ASM International Materials Collection<\/em>. However, the heavily used\nelectronic content is now available in print at the S&T library. This\ndigital content is discontinued effective 7\/1\/19. Please contact Tammy Stitz\nwith any questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n CRL\nMembership\u00ad<\/em> \u2013 University Libraries is no longer a member of\nthe Center for Research Libraries. Users may experience longer delays in\nInter-library loan (ILL) and\/or an inability of the library to acquire very old\nand\/or eclectic serials via ILL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ICPSR \u2013\n<\/em>This\ndatabase provided access to research datasets. Users may still be able to\nacquire some ICPSR datasets for free or for a fee. This service can no longer\nbe provided by UL due to budget. This resource has been canceled effective\n7\/1\/19. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Dance\nin Video 1 & 2<\/em> \u2013 These two streaming video databases have been\ncanceled effective 7\/1\/19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n History\nNews<\/em>\n\u2013 We have canceled our subscription to this print journal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Oxford\nReference Premium\u00ad<\/em> \u2013 This general reference database has been\ncancelled effective 7\/1\/19. Users looking for general reference type resources\nshould consider the following: Oxford Very Short Introductions, Oxford\nScholarship Online, Opposing Viewpoints in Context, or Gale Virtual Reference\nLibrary. Please contact\nyour subject librarian<\/a> for more information or help with this\ncontent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Oxford\nAfrican American Studies \u2013 <\/em>This database covering pan-African studies\nand African American history and culture has been canceled due to low use. This\nresource is cancelled effective 7\/1\/19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Oxford Dictionary of National Biography <\/em>and American National Biography<\/em> \u2013 These biography databases have been canceled effective 7\/1\/19. Users looking for biographical resources should consider the following: Gale Biography In Context, Biography Reference Bank, or a discipline specific resource (e.g., Gale Literature Resource Center). Please contact your subject librarian<\/a> for more information or help with this content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The library has recently lost access to our online hosting for the full page scans of the ABJ from 2008 \u2013 2018. However, the library maintains this content in house and can provide it to you on request. The option now appears in our publication finder entry for the ABJ<\/a>. Please contact Frank Bove or Gregg Harris for more details. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Faculty who would like access to a streaming video for use\nin a course can now complete this\nform<\/a>\nto send us their request. Streaming video licenses are expensive and the\nlibrary has a limited ability to accommodate these requests. However, we do\nprovide access to streaming video when there is a need for streaming (e.g.,\nonline course) and an academic benefit to our students. You can find existing\nstreaming video resources in our collection in the Films on Demand, Swank\nMotion Pictures, and Kanopy databases.
