{"id":8471,"date":"2020-01-16T13:38:23","date_gmt":"2020-01-16T13:38:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/liblog\/?p=8471"},"modified":"2020-01-16T13:41:41","modified_gmt":"2020-01-16T13:41:41","slug":"kaufman-kennedy-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/liblog\/2020\/01\/16\/kaufman-kennedy-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Kaufman, Kennedy News"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Steve Kaufman, Senior Instructional Designer, was thoughtful\nenough to share several interesting things going on.&nbsp; Steve and Sean Kennedy, UL Electronic\nServices, are representing UA\u2019s Affordable Learning Initiative.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Our Affordable Learning\nInitiative has been accepted to present a panel on \u201cDesigning\nfor Open: Success Stories in Implementing Open Textbooks and Resources\u201d on\nFebruary 28<sup>th<\/sup> at Cleveland State\u2019s OpenCon Cleveland 2020. We will\nbe bringing our faculty development teams to present on the process of adopting\nan open textbook and share the results of student surveys.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Other UA faculty development teams presenting are as follows:<\/p><p>Intro to Geography<br \/> &#8211; Meera Chatterjee<br \/> &#8211; Jeremy Spencer<\/p><p>Management Principles<br \/> &#8211; Sheri Schulte<br \/> &#8211; Scott Bible<\/p><p>Intro to Social Welfare<br \/> &#8211; Michele Thornton<br \/> &#8211; Naomi White<br \/> &#8211; Baomei Zhao<br \/> <br \/> Humanities in the Western Tradition<br \/> &#8211; Rose Eichler<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Kaufman and\nKennedy also submitted a proposal and have been accepted to present at the New\nExplorations in Teaching Conference (NEXT) on March 13<sup>th<\/sup>. Same\npresentation, different audience.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>On January 31<sup>st<\/sup>,\nKaufman will be the keynote speaker for North Carolina\u2019s Quality Matters\nConsortium kickoff meeting.
