List owners usually subscribe and manage the membership of their lists directly, but some lists allow individuals to subscribe themselves.\u00a0\u00a0 To subscribe to a list:<\/p>\n

  1. Open a new email message<\/li>\n
  2. In the TO: field, enter\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 sympa@lists.uakron.edu<\/li>\n
  3. In the Subject line enter:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 subscribe \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 NAME-OF-LIST<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0 (Where NAME-OF-LIST is the actual list you to which you want to subscribe.)<\/li>\n
  4. Remove any text or email signatures from the body of the message.<\/li>\n
  5. Send your email.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    (Depending on the list settings you may get an email back with a confirmation link.\u00a0 Click the link to access the listserv interface, then confirm your subscription. )<\/p>\n
