Students also <br>learn the underlying cellular and <br>molecular mechanisms in host <br>response to biomaterials and <br>various applications of <br>biointerfaces.\u00a0<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Polymer Engineering<\/strong>(4200: 408) &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/td><td>This course fulfills a design elective <br>in the chemical engineering <br>curriculum as well as one of the <br>design requirements for the <br>polymer engineering specialization.\u00a0 Students learn the fundamentals of synthesizing polymers and <br>processing polymeric materials by <br>extrusion, molding, casting, fiber <br>spinning, and other processes.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Transport Phenomena(4200: 321)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/td><td>The objectives of the course are to <br>provide students with abilities to\u00a0<br>describe transport processes <br>mathematically, to understand and <br>apply constitutive equations for <br>momentum, heat and mass transfer, and to use analogies between <br>momentum, heat, and mass <br>transport in the analysis of <br>engineering problems.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>&nbsp;<strong>Chemical Engineering Laboratory<\/strong>(4200:360)<\/td><td>Lab activities related to polymer <br>synthesis and reaction engineering.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Chemical Engineering Analysis &#8211; <br>Solving ODE &amp; PDE(4200: 631)<\/td><td>The objectives of this course are to <br>provide students with abilities to <br>solve ordinary differential equations (ODE) and partial differential <br>equations (PDE) for\u00a0 chemical <br>engineering applications.
