Mimulus <\/b><\/i><\/span>(Scrophulariaceae) is a large genus of showy flowering plants. An enormous amount of scientific study is now focused on understanding the population and evolutionary biology of this genus.<\/p>\n

My work focuses on Mimulus ringens <\/i>(square stem monkey flower), in collaboration with Dr. Jeff Karron<\/a><\/span> of the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. We are studying the effects of daily floral display<\/a><\/span> (the number of flowers open on a plant at any one time) on selfing rates and reproductive success through both male and female functions.<\/p>\n
