Biography

Dr. E. Cheng (co-PI) joined the Department of Computer Science at The University of Akron as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2012. Since Fall 2018, she has been promoted to Associate Professor with indefinite tenure. Dr. Cheng earned her Ph.D in Computer Science at Case Western Reserve University in 2012. Dr. Cheng has been teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science and developed two new graduate courses, namely Data Integration and NoSQL Data Management. She is involved on 5 M.S. degrees committees and 5 Ph.D. degrees committees. She has trained students on the development of large-scale data management and analytics systems and building data integration applications.

Data Integration, Big Data Management and Analytics, Database Systems and Applications, Mobile Applications, Business Intelligence, and Bioinformatics.
