He has received a Fulbright and Pollock-Krasner award.\u00a0 Kolodziej took a position at the University of Akron in 2001.\u00a0 As a tenured Professor of Art at the University of Akron, Myers School of Art, he teaches painting and drawing.\u00a0 In 2007, he started\u00a0<em>Synapse<\/em>, a series of lectures, workshops, exhibitions, and conversations about the intersection of science in art,<a href=\"http:\/\/synapseartscience.wordpress.com\/\">http:\/\/synapseartscience.wordpress.com\/<\/a>.\u00a0 In 2012, he joined forces with colleagues in polymer science, engineering and biology on a new initiative at the University of Akron to develop at Center for Biomimicry research,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/uabiomimicry.org\/\">http:\/\/uabiomimicry.org\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>What\u2019s on the Menu\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Mr. Kolodziej\u2019s paintings use references to architecture and archaeology to project a sense of dislocation, a central theme in his work. Funding supported the creation of a new body of work exploring the conflicted process of forming a sense of place.
