Keck Foundation Pre-proposals Science and Engineering and Medical Research Programs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This Keck Foundation opportunity is a targeted submission.\u00a0 Please follow these guidelines if interested in the Keck Foundation program:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review the funding announcement (<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/researchnewsinfo\/files\/2016\/11\/Keck-internal-call-for-proposal-ideas-Winter-2016-17.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Keck Proposal Guidelines<\/a>), and if interested in the opportunity, contact Katie Watkins via return email (<a href=\"mailto:kwatkin@uakron.edu\">kwatkin@uakron.edu<\/a>) with a brief description of your idea, much like an abbreviated white paper. \u00a0Include a summary that describes the proposal\u2019s goals, strengths, and potential for success, given Keck\u2019s funding criteria.\u00a0 In the case of a collaborative proposal, include the names\/departments of each UA collaborator.<\/li>\n<li>The \u201cwhite papers\u201d are used for internal review to determine projects with the highest likelihood for success and\/or alignment with the University\u2019s strategic plan.<\/li>\n<li>The Provost\u2019s Office will make the final determination of which ideas will go forward to Keck.<\/li>\n<li>Timeline:\n<ul>\n<li>Project descriptions due to Katie Watkins by<strong> November 11, 2016.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Determination of finalists will occur no later than <strong>November 18, 2016.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Finalists will then work with Ellen Perduyn or J.D. Spinner of the Office of Corporate Foundation Relations, Department of Development, to complete a concept paper.<\/li>\n<li>Formal concept papers are due to W.M.
