On Monday I wrote to nominating officials, announcing that the guidelines for this fall’s NEH Summer Stipends program had been posted and asking them to encourage applications from their faculty. Since then I have heard from a number of officials, asking if the Summer Stipends program would happen next year, given the president’s proposed budget. Given how much more of the federal budget process remains to be completed, we believe it is wise to continue our work as we normally have. Therefore we will continue accepting and reviewing applications for funding in all NEH programs. We encourage all applicants to file applications for funding.<\/p>\n
