{"id":44003,"date":"2020-04-14T11:06:34","date_gmt":"2020-04-14T15:06:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/researchnewsinfo\/?p=44003"},"modified":"2020-04-14T11:06:34","modified_gmt":"2020-04-14T15:06:34","slug":"era-moving-to-the-cloud-april-17-to-april-20-systems-unavailable-during-this-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/researchnewsinfo\/2020\/04\/14\/era-moving-to-the-cloud-april-17-to-april-20-systems-unavailable-during-this-time\/","title":{"rendered":"eRA Moving to the Cloud April 17 to April 20; Systems Unavailable During This Time"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/researchnewsinfo\/files\/2020\/02\/NIH-logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-43415\" width=\"248\" height=\"87\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Just a reminder that eRA is planning a\nmajor undertaking this month, to migrate its modules and data to the Amazon Web\nServices (AWS) cloud April 17-20 (Fri-Mon). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During this cloud migration, from 8 am ET on Friday, April 17 to 8 pm ET on Monday, April 20, all eRA modules (eRA Commons, ASSIST, IAR, iEdison, etc.) and all informational websites (era.nih.gov, etc.) will be unavailable.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any affected due dates will be covered under <a href=\"https:\/\/grants.nih.gov\/grants\/guide\/notice-files\/NOT-OD-20-091.html\">NIH\u2019s late application policy due to COVID-19<\/a>, which allows all applications submitted late for due dates between March 9, 2020, and May 1, 2020, to be accepted through May 1, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grants.gov will\ncontinue processing applications during the migration window.&nbsp;\nApplications received via Grants.gov will be put in a queue, and then eRA will\nprocess them on Monday night, April 20. The standard 2-day viewing window for\nsuccessfully submitted applications will be applied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that eRA will be closely monitoring the availability of staff needed to do the migration; please check the <a href=\"https:\/\/era.nih.gov\/era-cloud-migration.htm\">eRA Cloud Migration<\/a> webpage of the eRA website for confirmation of its plans late next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cloud computing provides us with a number\nof advantages.
