{"id":90,"date":"2014-10-09T17:55:36","date_gmt":"2014-10-09T17:55:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/seac\/?p=90"},"modified":"2014-10-09T18:19:08","modified_gmt":"2014-10-09T18:19:08","slug":"operation-evergreen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/seac\/2014\/10\/09\/operation-evergreen\/","title":{"rendered":"Operation Evergreen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/seac\/files\/2014\/10\/camo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-102\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/seac\/files\/2014\/10\/camo-253x300.jpg\" alt=\"camo\" width=\"253\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>During the Fall 2014 Semester, SEAC is working with Galehouse Tree farms on Operation Evergreen &#8211; a project to send trees and ornaments to service personnel stationed overseas.<\/p>\n<p>The ornaments are handmade and have to fit some unusual criteria &#8211; they need to be flat and sturdy since they will be packaged with trees and shipped all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>Articles in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uakron.edu\/digest\/index.php\/main\/archive\/4638#story_32090\">Email digest<\/a> and Zipmail \u00a0&#8211; along with the <a href=\"http:\/\/buchtelite.com\/23967\/news\/operation-evergreen-sending-support-to-troops-overseas\/\">Buchtelite<\/a> are helping to get the word out.<\/p>\n<p>Student Life has volunteered to help as part of a service project and expect to donate over 200 ornaments.<\/p>\n<p>Donations will be accepted through the end of October 2014. \u00a0The ornaments will then be taken to the tree farm for packaging and shipping.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the Fall 2014 Semester, SEAC is working with Galehouse Tree farms on Operation Evergreen &#8211; a project to send trees and ornaments to service personnel stationed overseas.
