This is because climate change is likely to increase the presence of intermittent headwater streams due to increased drought in the summer. By identifying aquatic macroinvertebrates not present at intermittent headwater streams, we can learn which aquatic macroinvertebrates are most at risk due to drought. We will also examine the various habitats that they use to withstand drought conditions.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3471\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/tiered-mentoring\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1447\/2021\/03\/TM2021.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"580\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/tiered-mentoring\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1447\/2021\/03\/TM2021.jpg 567w, https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/tiered-mentoring\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1447\/2021\/03\/TM2021.jpg?resize=217,300 217w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAs a tiered mentor student, you would assist in the collection of the aquatic macroinvertebrates and learn the Ohio EPA\u2019s methodology for doing so. We will also be surveying stream\u2019s hydrology (flow) and geomorphology (physical channel features).
