We also accepted our next round of Fellows, gathered for our first meeting in March, and look forward to seeing how those papers progress.<\/p>\n<p>We hosted our High Tech, virtual Copyright, and in-person Copyright Roundtables, continuing to bring scholars and industry professionals together to discuss key issues. In February, we held our first <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/ualawip\/events\/ippi-2026-winter-institute\/\">IPPI Winter Institute<\/a>; some details on that are below, and panel videos will be available on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@IPPolicyInstitute\">YouTube channel<\/a> soon, with transcripts to be published in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uakron.edu\/law\/about-us\/student-orgs\/review.dot\">Akron Law Review<\/a> later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, we formed a High Tech and a BioPharma Scholars Council, each of which will meet quarterly, and we had our first meeting of the Steering Committee for the Stevens Roundtable on Life Sciences Innovation. All three groups bring academics and industry experts together for lively discussions. We have several interesting projects on the way; look for details in upcoming progress reports and other email communications from IPPI.<\/p>\n<p>I am happy to share that the next iteration of the virtual WIPO-U.S. Summer School on IP is coming together, and we are looking forward to hosting a great group of national and international students. Participants discussed topics including litigation leadership, IP and antitrust, and licensing.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>IPPI Virtual Copyright Roundtable<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>On December 10, IPPI hosted a small virtual roundtable on \u201cThe Future of the Copyright Office in the Age of AI\u201d to discuss a wider view about what the Office should look like and how it should function to meet the needs of creators.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>IPPI Edison 2025-2026 Meeting 3<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>On January 15-16, IPPI hosted the virtual third and final meeting of the 2025-2026 Thomas Edison Innovation Law and Policy Fellowship. The Edison Fellows presented substantially revised drafts of their research papers and received feedback from Distinguished Commentators and other Fellows before submission to journals.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>IPPI Steering Committee Meeting<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>On January 21, IPPI hosted the first meeting of the newly formed IPPI Steering Committee.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>IPPI Stevens Roundtable Steering Committee Meeting<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>On January 29, IPPI hosted the first meeting of the Steering Committee for the Stevens Roundtable on Life Sciences Innovation.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>IPPI 2026 Winter Institute<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/ualawip\/events\/ippi-2026-winter-institute\/\">IPPI 2026 Winter Institute: <em>IP and National Success<\/em><\/a> was hosted in Lake Buena Vista, FL, on February 26 in partnership with The University of Akron\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uakron.edu\/law\/alum\/winter-institute\">Winter Institute 2026<\/a>.
