CPIP is a proud Media Sponsor of the event.<\/p>\n<p>The conference program is available <a href=\"http:\/\/copyrightandtechnology.com\/conference\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>, and registration is still open <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csusa.org\/events\/event_details.asp?id=710977&amp;group=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/copyright.gov\/about\/leadership\/jacqueline-charlesworth.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jacqueline Charlesworth<\/a>, General Counsel and Associate Register of Copyrights at the U.S. Copyright Office, will be the keynote speaker. The timing is very fortuitous, as the Copyright Office just last week <a href=\"http:\/\/copyright.gov\/fedreg\/2015\/80fr81862.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced a new study<\/a> to evaluate the effectiveness of the DMCA&#8217;s safe harbor provisions in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/uscode\/text\/17\/512\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Section 512<\/a> of the Copyright Act. Among the issues to be studied are the \u201ccosts and burdens of the notice-and-takedown process\u201d and \u201chow successfully section 512 addresses online infringement.\u201d These very issues will be discussed at the conference.<\/p>\n<p>The conference panels will discuss topics including live streaming, notice-and-staydown, copyright management information, safe harbor eligibility, collective licensing, and mass digitization.
