The poems\u2019 concerns are twofold: violence against women and girls that has become rooted in the land, and verdant female desire and self-assertion in the face of entrenched oppression. In the poems\u2019 Midwestern towns and farmlands, patriarchy is a ghost that haunts the cottonwoods, soybean fields, and creek beds. Her poems have appeared in\u00a0<em>Ecotone<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Crazyhorse<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Copper Nickel<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Indiana Review<\/em>, and others. Anne earned her MFA from Florida State University and her PhD from University of Missouri.
