Since its founding ninety years ago, Metro Parks, Serving Summit County has grown into one of the larger and more popular metropolitan park districts in the nation.<\/p>\n<p>The story of Metro Parks, Serving Summit County is not only a history of the park district\u2019s growth and a story of the diverse flora and fauna of the region; it is a chronicle of the vast array of people who enjoy and oversee the outdoor refuge. Author Sarah Vradenburg spent over four years researching the park district\u2019s history, interviewing visitors and hiking with current and former employees.\u00a0<i>Steps in Time<\/i>\u00a0is truly a people-oriented account of the land that is vital to the well-being of the area.<\/p>\n<h3>About the author<\/h3>\n<div class=\"author\">\n<p><b>Sarah Vradenburg<\/b>\u00a0is a Northeast Ohio native who grew up with the Cleveland Metroparks in her backyard. After earning a master\u2019s degree in journalism from Kent State University, she wrote for the\u00a0<i>Akron Beacon Journal<\/i>\u00a0for twenty-two years, covering the parks as an editorial writer. Now a freelance writer, Vradenburg also volunteers for Metro Parks, listening for frog calls and tending the gardens at F.A.
