At the same time, the new opportunities raise ethical questions concerning human identity and the definition of the human body. These concerns do not play out the same in all cultures or in every situation.

This collection of 30 case studies illustrates the range of global and local, ethical, social, and cultural problems associated with organ transplantation. The collection also provides a list of popular movies and websites to aid instructors and their students. This work is aimed at educators in medicine, health care, philosophy, and religious studies.

About the authors

Silke Schicktanz

Silke Schicktanz is a professor of Culture and Ethics in Biomedicine at the Institute for Ethics and the History of Medicine at the University of Göttingen.

Claudia Wiesemann

Claudia Wiesemann is the director of the Institute for Ethics and the History of Medicine at the University of Göttingen.

Sabine Wöhlke

Sabine Wöhlke is a researcher at the Institute for Ethics and the History of Medicine at the University of Göttingen.

Cases and Movies

Silke Schicktanz, Claudia Wiesemann, and Sabine Wöhlke, editors

Pages: 81; Size: 6″ x 9″

[97711
175,25309,98167
0":"post-1955","1":"product","2":"type-product","3":"status-publish","4":"has-post-thumbnail","6":"product_cat-distributed-by-ua-press","7":"product_tag-ethics","8":"product_tag-medicine","9":"product_tag-university-of-gottingen","11":"first","12":"instock","13":"shipping-taxable","14":"product-type-simple
["GET
