The poems in <\/span><\/span>Marble Orchard <\/span><\/span><\/em>are acrylic and anxious, <\/span>cinematic<\/span> and swarming. In this new collection, Corwin examines aches and acres, roiling with voices, overly<\/span> sensitive and ripe with yearning. A \u201cmarble orchard\u201d is a graveyard, a garden of cold flowers, a field of apples, hushed. <\/span><\/span>Marble Orchard<\/em> <\/span><\/span>explores physical and psychic pain through ekphrastic poems (in response to film and to paintings), crowd-sourced writing from overheard conversations, and formal pieces that use the vessels of traditional poetic forms.\u202f<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Emily Corwin\u2019s writing has appeared or is forthcoming in <\/span><\/span>Salamander<\/span><\/span><\/em>, <\/span><\/span>Black Warrior Review<\/em>, Passages North<\/em>, DIAGRAM<\/em>, Ninth Letter<\/em>, New South<\/em>, <\/span><\/span>and elsewhere.<\/span> Her book, <\/span><\/span>Sensorium, <\/span><\/span><\/em>was published in 2020 by the University of Akron Press.
