Wayne County Mini Maker Faire"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/waynecounty.makerfaire.com\/\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hello everyone,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Wayne County Mini Maker Faire is a <strong>family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and\nresourcefulness<\/strong> and a celebration of the Maker Movement. &nbsp;It\u2019s\na place where people show what they are making and share what they are\nlearning.&nbsp; Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders\nto scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The\naim of Maker Faire is to <strong>entertain, inform, connect\nand grow this community.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/waynec3\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1058\/2019\/06\/60415469_10156418116456909_4359129507492265984_o-1024x684.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11779\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Daily Record said it best: \u201cDubbed the \u2018Greatest Show and\nTell on Earth\u2019; over <strong>1,200 people<\/strong> flocked to the third annual faire at the University\nof Akron Wayne College last May. &nbsp;It was a fresh experience with <strong>favorite makers from last year<\/strong> coming back along\nwith <strong>new makers<\/strong> and new things to see\nand do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Maker Faire Bay Area 2019<\/strong> was also in May, the largest Maker Faire in the world!&nbsp; Thousands\nof attendees experienced hundreds of hands-on and interactive exhibits, eight\nstages brimming with presentations, performances and how-to\u2019s across science,\nart, craft and engineering.&nbsp; Adam Savage inspired maker with his \u201cSunday\nSermon\u201d.&nbsp; Folks tried their hands at circuitry, lace making, and light\nsaber training, while others honed their drone operator chops with the <strong>Museum of Future Sports.<\/strong>&nbsp; There was\nmobile architecture in the Tiny Home Zone, feats of flex and power on the Dance\nBattle stage, even the SFBazaar to shop for handmade and hard-to-find crafts.\n&nbsp;Big art! Droids! Robots! Racecars! Drones! Fire!&nbsp; Glimpse the future\nand get inspired at Maker Faire!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/waynec3\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1058\/2019\/06\/bay-area-1024x417.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11783\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/makezine.com\/2019\/05\/18\/check-out-saturdays-highlights-from-maker-faire-bay-area\/\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Checkout these photo recaps from <a href=\"https:\/\/makezine.com\/2019\/05\/18\/check-out-saturdays-highlights-from-maker-faire-bay-area\/\">Saturday<\/a>\n&amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/makezine.com\/2019\/05\/19\/sunday-highlights-from-maker-faire-bay-area\/\">Sunday<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are <strong>proud to\nshowcase Ohio makers<\/strong> participating in the Wayne County Mini Maker Faire.&nbsp; One of these people is <strong>Dan Kaufman of EthosPossibility Learning Center.<\/strong>&nbsp;\nDan is involved with cutting edge sustainability and green energy initiatives\nsuch as endothermic ceramic coatings, advance phase change heat batteries,\nradiant barrier insulation, soap-less cold water laundry system, MHD Magnetic\nfield generators, HHO dry cell generators. &nbsp;Dan is an Ohio farm\nboy at-heart, never ending grad. student, researcher, and developer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"648\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/waynec3\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1058\/2019\/06\/EthosPossibility-Center.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11787\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/waynec3\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1058\/2019\/06\/EthosPossibility-Center.jpg 648w, https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/waynec3\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1058\/2019\/06\/EthosPossibility-Center.jpg?resize=300,231 300w, https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/waynec3\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1058\/2019\/06\/EthosPossibility-Center.jpg?resize=425,328 425w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 648px) 100vw, 648px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Another group that participated in the Wayne County Mini\nMaker Faire is <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/zipselectricracing.com\/\">Zips Electric Racing<\/a>.<\/strong>&nbsp;\nAn <strong>all-electric race car<\/strong> is built each\nyear by University of Akron students using Formula SAE rules (open-wheel style,\nmini-F1). &nbsp;Their project includes Mechanical Engineering, Electrical\nEngineering, Computer Engineering, and extensive manufacturing and testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/waynec3\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1058\/2019\/06\/zips-1024x745.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11791\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/zipselectricracing.com\/\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Formula SAE\/Formula Student encompasses students to <strong>engage themselves into a work environment<\/strong>\nsimilar to the engineering industry. These students are challenged to\nincorporate their classroom knowledge into effective designs related to the\nautomotive industry. In the end, the experience and opportunity young students\ngain from such an engineering project produces engineers <strong>not found in classrooms alone.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rounding out our participating makers is <strong>Gregory Peterson of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/arcanaclast\/\">Arcanaclast: Dungeoncraft and\nMiniatures<\/a>.<\/strong>&nbsp; Gregory uses a number of techniques and\nmediums, including 3D printing, sculpture and painting, to create <strong>fantasy tabletop miniatures<\/strong> for games and\ndisplays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/waynec3\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1058\/2019\/06\/arcanaclast_makerprofile-1024x377.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11795\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/arcanaclast\/\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experimenting with a multitude of media, Gregory Peterson has\nbeen crafting \/ sculpting \/ painting \/ building all kinds of nerdy things over\nthe past year.
