Maker Faire Wayne County<\/a> is a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness<\/strong> and a celebration of the Maker Movement. \u00a0It\u2019s a place where people show what they are making and share what they are learning.\u00a0 Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. \u00a0They are of all ages and backgrounds. \u00a0The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Local Makers<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are proud to showcase Ohio makers<\/strong> who are participating in Maker Faire Wayne County 2022! \u00a0One of these is Jamie Hoy,<\/strong> owner of Jamie\u2019s Custom Cutting.\u00a0 He loves working with his hands and making quality products that are useful to people. \u00a0Jamie developed his own products which include a variety of cutting boards for kitchen use and other wooden items. \u00a0Jamie uses hardwoods including walnut, maple, cherry and oak. \u00a0Each board is handmade and finished in his shop.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Jamie received funds for a SawStop table saw<\/strong> which is much safer than your average table saw. \u00a0If the blade is touched by your hand, it stops and the blade drops below the table. You get to keep your fingers and avoid a potential serious injury. \u00a0A Maker Faire Wayne County, Jamie brought many interesting creations including cutting boards, ruler racks for quilters, coasters, game tile racks, and more.\u00a0 To learn more of Jamie<\/strong> and his craft, visit jamiescustomcutting.com<\/a><\/p>\n

Another person who participated in Maker Faire Wayne County is Abigail Morgan<\/strong> of A Crafty Creation.\u00a0 Her project that was presented at Maker Faire Wayne County is take-home charm kits<\/strong> with instructions given to children and any other participant. \u00a0She presented the process of how her products are made and demonstrated how to put together charms as well. \u00a0Abigail brought a variety of decor and clearance sale from previous shows, but the mainstream was her polymer clay and resin jewelry\/accessories. \u00a0She had a blast spreading creativity at maker faire!<\/p>\n

As portrayed by the above photo, Abigail\u2019s mom<\/strong> is one of her closest friends and supporters. \u00a0Abigail is also a full time student at Orrville High.\u00a0 She takes pride in her business and leadership skills, along with productivity in Girl Scouts and church volunteer work. \u00a0Her goal is to spread creativity in everyday student and adult life,<\/strong> preaching the benefits it\u2019s had on herself and others.<\/p>\n

Rounding out our makers who participate in Maker Faire Wayne County are students of Wooster High School\u2019s<\/strong> Wooster Robotics Competition Teams<\/strong> and other engineering students.\u00a0 At Maker Faire Wayne County, they setup a robot arena<\/strong> to demonstrate robots built for the VEX Robotics 2022 game called “Tipping Point”.\u00a0 The team set-up a 12\u2019 x 12\u2019 field and demonstrated the robots that would be competing.<\/p>\n
