Maker Faire Wayne County<\/a> is a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness<\/strong> and a celebration of the Maker Movement.  It\u2019s a place where people show what they are making and share what they are learning.  Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers.  They are of all ages and backgrounds.  The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community.<\/strong>  <\/strong>For a complete list of awesome makers who attended Maker Faire Wayne County click here!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maker Faire Rome<\/a> showcased all things innovation \u2013 from digital manufacturing to the Internet of Things, from robotics to artificial intelligence, from the circular economy to agritech, from digital manufacturing to e-sports via big data and aerospace, up to the latest discoveries of the metaverse and augmented reality. New and specific areas of Maker Art and Maker Music will return, ready to explore the intersection among arts, music, science, and technology and to offer visitors the opportunity to discover how technology can support and stimulate creativity. Local Makers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are proud to showcase Ohio makers<\/strong> who will participate in Maker Faire Wayne County 2024.  One of these are members of the Wayne County Children’s STEAM Playlab<\/a><\/strong> coming soon to Dalton in the LincWay building.  The Playlab is committed to inspiring a love of learning for all ages, showcasing a community that is an agricultural, manufacturing, educational and technology hub in Ohio.  Their goal is to provide a high quality and “hands-on” experience<\/strong> for families, students and learners of all ages in our facility.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Maker Faire Wayne County, attendees will make homemade helicopters<\/strong> (paper helicopters) and launch from their new wind tunnel.<\/strong> They will also have a couple other fun projects, too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other persons participating in Maker Faire this July are Bill and Donna. <\/strong> Donna was a music teacher while Bill started teaching but got hooked on stained glass<\/strong> when his dad took lessons in a library in Cleveland in 1975.  Donna then opened Baroque ‘n Glass Shoppe<\/strong> in Smithville where they sold stained glass supplies as well as custom ordered windows and lampshades.  Bill appeared on HGTV as a stained glass craftsman for a segment of Room by Room with Matt and Sherri.  They enjoy working with glass and like to share their knowledge and experience with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Maker Faire Wayne County this July, Bill and Donna will bring samples of various types of glass and also bring the tools that they use.  They plan to work on a small stained glass project<\/strong> and also have a project in various stages of completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rounding out our makers who participated in Maker Faire Wayne County is Rob from Schantz Organ Company<\/a>.<\/strong>  He is a pipe organ service technician with over 40 years of experience.  Rob is a maker, a tinkerer, and is interested in antique musical instruments.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this year\u2019s maker faire, Rob will bring his famous band organ,<\/strong> a computerized music machine with real instruments and animatronics.<\/strong>  Listening to and watching his band organ is a mesmerizing experience!  It is one of the hallmarks of the maker faire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
