Our hours of operation are listed here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Community member John thoroughly enjoys the laser engraver\/cutter in the 3D Lab, inventing things like shadow boxes for radios, custom earrings, and more. Lately, he created a custom iPad car mount by layering laser-cut plywood. This allows flat-medium devices like laser engravers to maker three dimensional items, especially useful for topological maps<\/a>. John uses Affinity Designer<\/a> for his designs, a vector art program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The 3D Lab has been a popular place for its dye sublimation printer and heat press. Lately, a group from Peachy Parties Ohio<\/a> visited the lab to make custom t-shirts and ceramic mugs We have an Epson inkjet printer retrofitted with dye sublimation ink that prints onto special paper, making \u201cheat transfer sheets\u201d that can be pressed onto clothing and other flat items. They did a great job learning and using the equipment, quite self sufficient and happy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our friends at Schantz Makerspace have been busy teaching community classes. The last two Saturday mornings they had participants building small table top CNC routers. Each individual learned how to build the machine as well as use the software to bring their ideas to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The next Schantz Makerspace Maker Monday is scheduled for March 18 from 7-9 p.m. at the Romich Foundation Makerspace, 13875 Cleveland Road, Creston. Their time together will include presentations from a number of regulars on recent projects. These include Jeff Snure showing and discussing epoxy filled wood.
