Are you using an e-textbook this semester? If so, both instructors and students can expect to reap the benefits. A recent study conducted by Andrew Feldstein of Virginia State University reveals that e-textbooks offer many advantages over traditional hardcopy texts. Below are a few.
•E-textbooks feature rich content that is readily available and accessible. Students report this type of content to be more useful.
•More students report reading their assigned material in e-textbooks.
•Students using e-textbooks tend to have higher grades.
•Student failure rates are lower.
•Withdrawal rates from courses are lower.
Details of this study are described in the periodical, Online Cl@ssroom, which is available for checkout from the Faculty Resources Collection in the library.
