His main areas of research include wireless communication, information theory, and applications of signal processing in communication. He received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from McGill University, Montreal, Canada in 2008. From 2007 to 2009 and prior to joining the University of Akron, he was a scientist at Wavesat Inc. Montreal, Canada. Dr. Bahrami has B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees both in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology and University of Tehran, Iran, respectively. He has served as the Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Communications, thee Transactions on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies (formerly European Transactions on Telecommunications), as the Guest Editor for The Scientific World Journal and as the Technical Program Committee member of numerous IEEE conferences including IEEE GLOBECOM and International Conference on Communications (ICC). His main area of research includes smart grid, application of optimization in power networks, and Game theory. Prior to joining the University of Akron, he worked as lecturer at Islamic Azad University and as a consultant in the field of energy. He has received his M.Sc. degree from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Tehran, Iran in 2008. His M.Sc. research work was on the use of genetic algorithms for implementing fuzzy controllers for parallel flexible alternating current transmission (FACTS) devices to improve their voltage profile. Eltayeb received his B.E. degree in Electronics Engineering from Sudan University of Science &amp; Technology in 2004 and his M.Sc. degree in Telecommunications Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, in 2009. In 2009, he was appointed as a Research Engineer at KFUPM where he was part of a team that established and administrated the Science and Technology Unit (a research funding body with an approved budget over US $ 26 M). He joined WCL in 2010 and subsequently completed his PhD in October 2014.
