For thousands of women from Akron and the surrounding area, the YWCA of Summit County was a very special organization. A documentary can only tell a few stories and show only some of the photos.
With this website, we hope to extend the conversation, give you an opportunity to share your own stories and photos of the YWCA.
We will be posting those stories and photos on this website as we receive them. In addition, we would like to donate the materials we receive to The University of Akron Archives (YWCA of Summit County Collection) and the Special Collections Department at the Akron-Summit County Public Library so that your special memories can be preserved for future generations.
