Our publication Pain and the Brain: A Systematic Review of Methods, EEG Biomarkers, Limitations, and Future Directions has recently been featured on the cover of Neurology International Vol.17 Iss.4!

We invited the Western Reserve Academy to visit and learn more about our Department of Biomedical Engineering. They toured our different labs, including The Signals Research Lab. We showcased some of our new equipment and discussed current and ongoing research being conducted.

We were invited to represent the Department of Biomedical Engineering of The University of Akron during the NIHF STEM career day. We had a great opportunity to engage with the student and share insights about our program and the responsibilities of being a biomedical engineer.

We were invited by Isabella, a senior at Western Reserve Academy, to present for a session of her lecture series “Diverse Discoveries”, where the goal is to emphasize representation in the research community. We had a wonderful time presenting about our lab, what it means to be a researcher, and being a woman in STEM! It was a great opportunity to connect with new students and share our experiences in the field.

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of attending the 2024 IEEE brain Workshop. I gained insight into new developments in neurotechnology and brain signal acquisition, along with new approaches in machine learning and clinical research in neuroscience. Thank you to the wonderful keynote speakers and poster presentations! -Bayan
