Neural Correlates of Social Media Use During LEGO Construction
About the Study
The study investigates differences in brain activity associated with varying levels of social media usage. Its purpose is to contribute to a better understanding of how social media influences neural processing. To explore this, participants engage in LEGO-building tasks designed to measure cognitive responses under different conditions.
Requirements
- Must be a member of The University of Akron
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Inclusion Criteria
- Light Social Media User
- Heavy Social Media User
Exclusion Criteria
- Those with conditions that affect vision or fine motor skills
- Those who are currently using medications known to affect the central nervous system (e.g. antidepressants, ADHD medication, Antiepileptics, sedatives, etc.) will be excluded from this study
- Those who may be pregnant
- Those with conditions that may alter the ability to perform mental tasks
