Research Interests: 

I am interested in understanding the mechanism of melanin-based structural color produced by one, two and three dimensional photonic crystals in avian feathers. Particularly, I focus on assembly of synthetic and natural melanin particles to mimic these structures to shine light on how these structures are formed in tissues.
