Research Interests: treatment of PTSD in survivors of intimate partner violence, gender-based victimization, the intersection of gender-based victimization and HIV in cis and trans gender women, the intersection of gender-based victimization and alcohol and drug use

What does "empowerment" mean to you? I feel empowered when I identify and address things I want to change that are in my control. I feel powerful when I am successful at it. However, empowerment does not always lead to success.
