(1) List your judicial experience (courts and years):
I served on the Board of Revisions from 2012 to 2016 overseeing more
than 250 property tax appeals. I consider the position to be an
administrative position rather than judicial, but I did enjoy hearing
evidence presented from talented attorneys and ruling on the issues
presented.

(2) What about your non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a
judge?
The courts of appeals primary function is to hear appeals and review
decisions of common pleas and municipal and county courts. I
represent clients in those court systems throughout Northwest Ohio
everyday. Legal decisions, opinions, footnotes, and precedent are
important factors in the law and my practice. It is also important to
understand the effects of the application of the law. I have direct
contact with my clients and understand how the law effects their daily
lives which makes me the best candidate for the position.

(3) Why are you running for this particular court seat?
The 6th District Court of Appeals is unique in its geographical and
demographic make up. Half of the residents live in the urban Toledo
area and the other half live in the rural area. Currently, all five court of
appeals judges are from Toledo or an immediate suburb. I grew up and
went to primary school in the Eastwood Local School District – a rural
district. I live in Wood County. I represented Wood County as
commissioner. I understand the unique issues faced by rural residents,
such as, agriculture, drainage, industry, and recently pipelines. I also
attended and graduated from engineering and law school in Toledo. I
work regularly in Toledo. I understand the issues, assets, and challenges
of the urban area. I am uniquely qualified to serve the interests of all
residents of the 6th District.
