(2) What about your non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a
judge?
I have been a practicing attorney for 14 years. During that time I have
had the pleasure of representing people in most of the counties in
north east Ohio. I am also licensed to practice in the Federal Courts for
the Northern District of Ohio. Since I am an Assistant Prosecutor for
Carroll County I have also had the opportunity to represent the State
of Ohio in criminal cases. I have experience with both defendants and
plaintiffs and I believe that will help me make informed decisions when
it comes to over seeing tough cases.

(3) Why are you running for this particular court seat?
It’s simple: I care deeply about my community and I think The Carroll
County Court of Common Pleas should be something that our
community can respect. I think the Court could be improved in several
ways to ensure that it is a respectable institution in our community. Key
things that I will address as your Judge:
Fair and Legally Sound Rulings. As a Judge I won’t be afraid to make the
tough decisions. I also won’t be legislating from the bench. I will use the
facts presented to the court, combined with established law to give
people fair and timely rulings. I believe that it’s important for the court
to fully review each and every case prior to each hearing. This way the
Judge can be properly prepared to rule on the case. People should not
leave the courthouse feeling like their position was never even
reviewed or considered.
Timely Hearings and Rulings. As a Judge I promise to have a hearing
schedule that is run in a timely manner. I will be there on time and fully
prepared to start your hearing when it is scheduled. After all, how can
the court expect to have the respect of its community if the court itself
does not respect the community?I also think each case should be
decided in a timely manner. In order to ensure efficiency I will institute
a case scheduling system. When a case is ×led a timeline for that case
will be created that sets a definite date when the case should be
finalized. This will ensure that cases don’t stay open and unresolved for
unnecessary amounts of time.
