PhD STUDENTS


 

Anik Chowdhury received his Bachelors in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) on March 2016. He joined the University of Akron on Fall 2017. His research interests are in electrical machine design and energy systems. He loves to travel and play soccer during the leisure time.

 

Kyungin Nam received his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Soongsil University in Seoul, South Korea in 2012. And, Master degree of control in Electrical engineering department in Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea in 2015. Currently, he is pursuing towards his Ph.D degree at the University of Akron. His research interests are control and signal processing.

 

Lavanya Vadamodala received her Bachelors in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University(JNTU), India in 2013. She received her Master of Technology from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University(JNTU), India in 2015. Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Akron. Her research interests are design and control of electric machines.

 

Abdul Wahab Bandarkar, After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2015, he worked as an Electrical Engineer in India between 2015-20016. He has started PhD program at The University of Akron in fall 2016. His research interests are design and control of electric machines.

 

Md Ehsanul Haque received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2014. Before joining UA he worked as a Research Engineer in Pi Labs Bangladesh Ltd. for 3 years. He joined the Ph.D. program at The University of Akron, in Fall 2017.  His research interest includes Power Electronic Converters, Micro Grid Systems, Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Systems.

 

Md Tawhid Bin Tarek received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2009. He worked as System Engineer in Grameenphone Limited, Bangladesh from August, 2010 to December, 2011. He then joined as a Specialist Engineer in Radio Network Optimization area in Robi Axiata Limited, Bangladesh and work there from January, 2012 to August, 2015. He completed M.S. degree in electrical engineering from The University of Akron, Akron, OH, USA in 2017. He is currently pursuing Ph.D. degree at The University of Akron. His research interest areas include design and modeling of electric machines.

 

Mohammad Arifur Rahman   received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) in 2014. He is currently pursuing towards his PhD degree at University of Akron. His research interest includes fault diagnosis of power converters based on EMI analysis.

 

Mohammad Noor Bin Shaheed received his B.Sc. degree from Bangladesh University of Science & Technology (BUET) in 2014. On spring 2016, he joined The University of Akron as a Ph.D. Student. His research area is focused on the resilient and adaptive control of small scale DC microgrids, robust battery management systems and reliability of DC and AC microgrid systems.

 

Salman Harasis received his B.Sc degree from Tafila Technical University-TTU  (Jordan ), and M.Sc form Bucharest Polytechnic University (Romania) . Prior to joining University of  Akron (UA), he has worked as a lecturer at TTU. He is currently pursuing towards his PhD degree at UA. His research interest includes modeling and control of AC micro-grid, grid integration of renewable energy conversion systems.

 

Sifat M. Chowdhury received the B.Sc. degree in electrical & electronic engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh, in 2014. Currently, he is working toward the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering at The University of Akron, OH, USA. His research interests include power electronic converters and energy management systems for ac & dc microgrids and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) systems.

 

Shuvajit Das received his Bachelors in EEE (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) from BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology) on March, 2016. On fall 2016 he joined The University of Akron as a PhD student. His area of interests are design, control and Multiphysics analysis of electric machines. Currently he is focused on designing low acoustic noise motors for power steering application. When not spending time on the lab, he loves to travel and take photos.

 


MSc  STUDENTS


 

Fubing Han, has received his B.Sc degree from Shanxi university, China, in electrical engineering in July 2016. And after that he has started MSc. Program at The University of Akron in fall 2016. His research interests are design and modeling of electric machines.


Samir Chowdhury, received his Bachelors in EEE (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) from BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology) in   2016.  He is pursuing his Msc degree at the University of Akron.  His area of interests are  designa nd control of wireless charging systems.
