SIOP: Graduate Student Scholarships and Lee Hakel Graduate Student Scholarship

Main Purpose: To recognize and support graduate students in industrial and organizational psychology. This scholarship is through the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP).

Benefits: $3,000-$3,500 to be used for any graduate school expenses

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Full-time doctoral student in an Industrial Organizational Psychology program
  • Must be student affiliate of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology
  • Dissertation proposal already approved by advisor
  • May not have previously received another SIOP scholarship

Meredith P. Crawford Fellowship: Human Resources Research Organization

Main Purpose: To support I/O Psychology students with exceptional research skills in completing dissertation research.

Benefits: $12,000 stipend

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • Doctoral candidate in I/O Psychology
  • Dissertation proposal must already be approved
  • Actively involved in the process of completing dissertation
  • Will be required to present research during a visit to the Human Resources Research Organization

Basic Psychological Science Research Grant

Main Purpose: To assist students in funding psychological science research, some specific to diversity-focused research.

Benefits: 

  • $1,000 to be used for research (thesis, dissertation,  or other)
  • Some $1,000 grants are available for research directly related to diversity

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Graduate student enrolled at least half-time at an accredited university
  • Member of the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students
    • Students who are members of the American Psychological Association as undergraduate student affiliates, associate member, or other member status, must change their status to graduate student affiliate prior to applying

American Psychological Association Dissertation Research Award

Main Purpose: To help science-oriented doctoral students of psychology with the costs of research.

Benefits:

  • 30-40 grants of $1,000 each
  • Several larger $5,000 grants

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Graduate student in psychology at an accredited college university in The United States or Canada
  • In good standing with their university
  • Full-time student or working on dissertation research for an equivalent of full-time enrollment (regardless of actual registration status)
  • Student affiliate or associate member of The American Psychological Association
  • Dissertation proposal approved by dissertation committee
  • May not have received a previous APA Dissertation Research Award
