Another Award! Fleischer and Newhall Documentary

Fleischer and Newhall Win another Award for Documentary

The documentary film Lost Voices of the Great War: Summit County in the First World War won a Leadership in History Award of Excellence from the American Association of State & Local History (AASLH) at their annual conference on Friday, August 30th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  According to AASLH, the awards are given to “establish and encourage standards of excellence in the collection, preservation, and interpretation of state and local history” and “recognize superior and innovative achievements.”

S. Victor Fleischer, University Archivist, Head of Archival Services, and Associate Professor of Bibliography, served as lead researcher, co-writer, and co-producer of the film, while Jamie Newhall, Sr. Multi-Media Producer in Design & Development Services, served as videographer/editor.  The film was produced with Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens and other community partners with the generous support of a grant from the Ohio Humanities Council.
