Luiza Esteves
Luiza was born in Carmo do Rio Claro, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Her Bachelor's Degree is in Chemistry from the Universidade Federal de Alfenas - UNIFAL, Brazil (2010). Luiza earned both doctorate and Masters degree in Chemical Engineering focusing on corrosion science from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais - UFMG, Brazil. During her Ph.D., she had the opportunity to be a visiting scholar at the Fontana Corrosion Center (FCC), The Ohio State University (OSU) in 2015. She had the privilege to earn the award UFMG Thesis Award 2017 - Best thesis of the graduate program in Chemical Engineering. Then after finishing her PhD, she had a great experience working in a project called MGgrafeno in Brazil, which she was working with graphene applications (anti-corrosive, conductive inks, elastomers, composites, etc). Now, she is a postdoctoral researcher at the National Center for Education and Research on Corrosion and Materials Performance - NCERCAMP focusing on sensitization in 5xxx series aluminum alloys.
