Kaufman, Kennedy News

Steve Kaufman, Senior Instructional Designer, was thoughtful enough to share several interesting things going on.  Steve and Sean Kennedy, UL Electronic Services, are representing UA’s Affordable Learning Initiative.

  • Our Affordable Learning Initiative has been accepted to present a panel on “Designing for Open: Success Stories in Implementing Open Textbooks and Resources” on February 28th at Cleveland State’s OpenCon Cleveland 2020. We will be bringing our faculty development teams to present on the process of adopting an open textbook and share the results of student surveys.

Other UA faculty development teams presenting are as follows:

Intro to Geography
– Meera Chatterjee
– Jeremy Spencer

Management Principles
– Sheri Schulte
– Scott Bible

Intro to Social Welfare
– Michele Thornton
– Naomi White
– Baomei Zhao

Humanities in the Western Tradition
– Rose Eichler

  • Kaufman and Kennedy also submitted a proposal and have been accepted to present at the New Explorations in Teaching Conference (NEXT) on March 13th. Same presentation, different audience.
  • On January 31st, Kaufman will be the keynote speaker for North Carolina’s Quality Matters Consortium kickoff meeting. He will be presenting “Building a Statewide Culture of Quality”, which shows how 60 institutions in Ohio work together to provide professional development and course reviews to our members.

Impressive work, Steve & Sean!
