Research Presentation Featuring David Giffels

David Giffels will present on Monday, January 30, 2017

Olin Hall 131 from 12-1 pm

“I devoted my 2016 Faculty Research fellowship to a project titled “Swing Season: Writing the Heart of Ohio in a Presidential Election Year.” The project gave me a platform from which to secure an additional fellowship and weeklong residency in Cleveland to cover the Republican National Convention for Belt Magazine, publishing four essays as part of the online magazine’s coverage of the event. In addition, I published three election-themed essays in the online edition of The Atlantic magazine, allowing the opportunity to bring this project to a major national audience. Also, as a result of the exposure of these essays, I was featured in a longform analysis of national RNC news coverage by the Columbia Journalism Review.”

Please join us to hear more about David Giffels’ experience at the RNC. Feel free to bring your lunch to the presentation.
