The Hanns Swarzenski and Brigitte Horney Swarzenski Fellowship will be awarded to a promising young scholar for study and research at the Museum. Preference will be given to applicants with a proven interest in museum work or those planning to pursue a museum career in the field of medieval art. Should in any given year the Grants Committee find no suitable candidate for a fellowship in medieval art, the Museum may instead select a suitable candidate in the field of European decorative arts.

National Dance Project: Presentation Grants

hese grants support the dance field by making it possible for presenters to bring artists and companies into their communities, enabling audiences across the nation to experience work by some of today’s most creative and compelling dance artists. Each year, 25 to 30 NDP projects are featured in engagements in an average of 250 communities across the country. RFA-HD-16-002–CAPSTONE Centers for Multidisciplinary Research in Child Abuse and Neglect (P50)

National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) invites applications for multidisciplinary centers to serve as the CAPSTONE for research and education n child maltreatment and as a resource for the field. The Center(s) will conduct innovative and high quality research including: 1) trials testing the efficacy and effectiveness of clinical interventions; 2) longitudinal prospective studies examining the long term impact of specific and understudied types of maltreatment including abusive head trauma, medical neglect, sexual abuse; 3) studies examining the neurobiology of abuse and neglect and implications for health outcomes; and 4) studies testing the development of screening tools and clinical assessment measures for early identification and treatment of specific types of abuse and neglect to decrease morbidity and mortality and to identify potential comorbidities.

NAEF Research Grants

Deadline: October 1, 2015; must be a NAEA member for one year to apply.

NAEF invites proposals to support research in art education that advance knowledge in the field of art education and that promulgate research surrounding the themes of the NAEA Research Agenda (see NAEA Research Commission website at www.arteducators.org; search: Research Commission). Grants are awarded to art educators whose proposals focus on the themes and ideas for research identified in this document. Troubadour International Poetry Prize

Proposals that incorporate emerging nanotechnology methods are especially encouraged. The goal of the Biomedical Engineering (BME) program is to provide opportunities to develop novel ideas into discovery-level and transformative projects that integrate engineering and life sciences in solving biomedical problems that serve humanity in the long-term. BME projects must be at the interface of engineering and life sciences, and advance both engineering and life sciences. The projects should focus on high impact transformative methods and technologies. Projects should include methods, models and enabling tools of understanding and controlling living systems; fundamental improvements in deriving information from cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems; new approaches to the design of structures and materials for eventual medical use in the long-term; and novel methods for reducing health care costs through new technologies.
