The Everett Knoll Complex is an archaeological site first identified in the 1850’s. Today it is an Archaeological District on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). This designation means that the site is important and should be preserved and protected.

Over 10,000 Years of People in the Cuyahoga Valley
Glaciers receded from northeast Ohio around 14,000 years ago, allowing for groups to move into the region. Living along and around the Cuyahoga River has always been popular, resulting in thousands of years of evidence of daily life left throughout the Cuyahoga Valley.
We do not know many of the names of the people and groups that made the valley their home, but using archaeological and botanical evidence we know what the area would have looked like over time, the animals and plants they would have had access to, and where they lived, or at least some of the places they lived.
