Building Cultural Diversity Initiative

The Building Cultural Diversity (BCD) program provides support to arts and community organizations whose mission, programs, staff and board are rooted in culturally specific communities and that offer Ohio citizens the opportunity to experience a full and vibrant cultural life. Organizations must provide artistic, educational and cultural value that is responsive to the needs of their community and has identified strategies for planning, evaluation and management.

ACMP Grants – Chamber Music Workshops

Deadline: December 31, 2015

The sponsor provides support to subsidize coaches’ salaries, to reduce registration fees, and to provide scholarships. In addition, technical support is available for those wishing to organize their own event.

George Washington Book Prize

Deadline: November 30, 2015

The prize is awarded annually for the finest scholarly work in English that contributes to a greater understanding of the American founding era (c. 1760-1820). Publishers and authors are invited to submit books that meet these criteria.

Hanns Swarzenski and Brigitte Horney Swarzenski Fellowship

Deadline: November 6, 2015

The Hanns Swarzenski and Brigitte Horney Swarzenski Fellowship will be awarded to a promising young scholar for study and research at the Museum. Preference will be given to applicants with a proven interest in museum work or those planning to pursue a museum career in the field of medieval art. Should in any given year the Grants Committee find no suitable candidate for a fellowship in medieval art, the Museum may instead select a suitable candidate in the field of European decorative arts.

National Dance Project: Presentation Grants

Deadline: November 16, 2015

hese grants support the dance field by making it possible for presenters to bring artists and companies into their communities, enabling audiences across the nation to experience work by some of today’s most creative and compelling dance artists. Each year, 25 to 30 NDP projects are featured in engagements in an average of 250 communities across the country. These touring engagements create new connections between the public and artists, offer unique opportunities for artistic growth, and increase access to the arts and the creative process.

Scientific Research Projects; GRAMMY Foundation

Deadline: October 1, 2015

The GRAMMY Foundation Grant Program awards grants to organizations and individuals to support research on the impact of music on the human condition. Examples might include the study of the effects of music on mood, cognition and healing, as well as the medical and occupational well-being of music professionals and the creative process underlying music. Priority is given to projects with strong methodological design as well those addressing an important research question.

NAEF Research Grants

Deadline: October 1, 2015; must be a NAEA member for one year to apply.

NAEF invites proposals to support research in art education that advance knowledge in the field of art education and that promulgate research surrounding the themes of the NAEA Research Agenda (see NAEA Research Commission website at www.arteducators.org; search: Research Commission). Grants are awarded to art educators whose proposals focus on the themes and ideas for research identified in this document. NAEF encourages the submissions of proposals to conduct research that investigates the impact and importance of arts education in student learning and provides hard data to support the findings of the research.

Troubadour International Poetry Prize

Deadline: October 19, 2015

Coffee-House Poetry will award prizes, including a first prize of £5,000 for the best poetry submissions. Poems must be in English, must each be no longer than 45 lines, must fit on one side of one A4 or US-Letter-size page, must show title and poem only, must not show poet’s name or any other identifying marks on submitted poems (whether submitted by post or as e-mail attachment), must be the original work of the entrant (no translations) and must not have been previously broadcast or published (in print or online).

Institutional Grants; Dedalus Foundation

The sponsor offers institutional grants to support educational programs, exhibitions, and publications by museums, universities, art schools, and other educational institutions. International Art Competition – Naked

The “NAKED” international art competition will be evaluated by the Jury Panel represented by gallery board members and curators, exhibiting artists, art business professionals. Entries must be in JPEG format, no larger than 1400 x 1800 pixels, and under 2MB. This category allows the following aspects: nudity, naked body, erotica, sexuality.

Public Understanding of Science, Technology, and Economics

Deadline: Open Submission

The program’s primary aim is to build bridges between the two cultures of science and the humanities and to develop a common language so that they can better understand and speak to one another–and ultimately to grasp that they belong to a single common culture. The Foundation has established a nationwide initiative that works through programs in books, theater, film, television, radio, and new media to commission, develop, produce, and distribute new work and new initiatives that focus on science and technology for the lay public.

NEA Our Town

The Our Town grant program supports creative placemaking projects that help to transform communities into lively, beautiful, and resilient places with the arts at their core. Creative placemaking is when artists, arts organizations, and community development practitioners deliberately integrate arts and culture into community revitalization work – placing arts at the table with land-use, transportation, economic development, education, housing, infrastructure, and public safety strategies. This funding supports local efforts to enhance quality of life and opportunity for existing residents, increase creative activity, and create a distinct sense of place.

This international design competition is the only competition that prominently recognizes winners in the award-winning magazine – HOW Magazine.
