Lillie Wise
Hi Zips! My name is Lillie Wyse and I’m a freshman here at UA. I’m majoring in political science with a minor in psychology. I plan to go to law school and one day become an immigration attorney. I am a member of the Williams Honors College and Rhythm and Roos -an a cappella group. In high school I had a plethora of leadership positions such as Vice President of History club, Treasurer of the choir, and Ambassador of the Ohio Attorney Generals Teen Ambassadors Board. In my short time at UA I’ve learned a lot about myself and the community around me. I love college life here at Akron! If I could give one message to any student it would be to walk in Love, spreading and carrying love in everything that you do can take you anywhere in life. Everyone is deserving of unwavering love and kindness. As a first year senator, I will strive to make every student feel the love, feel valued, and most importantly feel heard! Ahtziry Villegas-Camacho
Hello, Zips! My name is Ahtziry Villegas-Camacho, and I am a first-year Political Science major with a Spanish minor on the Pre-Law track, aspiring to become an attorney. I am involved in Akron’s Pre-Law Society, UA Latinos, and the Women in Business Club. Before coming to Akron, I served as President of National Honor Society and Vice President of Student Council. I was also a three-sport athlete in high school, participating in volleyball, soccer, and cheerleading. Through these experiences, I learned that leadership is not simply about holding a position, it is about listening, showing up, working with others, and advocating for the people you represent.
As a first-year student, I bring a fresh perspective and a genuine desire to understand the experiences of students across campus. My involvement in different organizations has allowed me to meet people with different backgrounds, interests, and goals, and has reinforced my belief that every student deserves to feel heard and represented. My passion for political science and law has also strengthened my interest in advocacy and finding meaningful ways to create positive change.
If elected as an Undergraduate Student Senator, I want to be more than just a name on the roster. I want to be someone students feel comfortable approaching with their ideas, concerns, and experiences. I don’t believe leadership is about speaking for people; I believe it is about listening to people and making sure their voices are heard. I am ready to listen, learn, and advocate for my fellow Zips while helping build a campus community where every student knows that their voice matters. Go Zips!
Ethan Phillips
Hey Zips! My name is Ethan Phillips, and I’m a freshman at The University of Akron pursuing my bachelor’s degree in history. I’m also proud to be a member of the William Honors College. I have a strong background in leadership, community service, and getting involved. During high school, I served as Student Council President and Class President, while also taking on leadership roles in the band and ambassador programs. I’m passionate about serving my community, growing as a leader, and making the most of every opportunity to get involved and make a difference on campus. It is my goal, as a first-year senator, to ensure every first-year student feels heard and connected.

Hi, Zips! My name is Gabby Murat. I am a Freshman here at UA, majoring in Biomedical Sciences on the Pre-Dental track. I am a member of the Williams Honors College, Pre-Dental Club, and Phi Delta Epsilon. During my time at Akron, I have encountered so many new, wonderful people who deserve to be represented and accounted for. Freshman year marks the beginning of four years of new beginnings, and with that also come challenges.
With my previous experience in student government during high school, I plan to aid all freshmen in integrating into the UA community in a manner that promotes a sense of unity.
Wyatt Bartholomew
Hello, Zips! My name is Wyatt Bartholomew, and I am a freshman at the University of Akron pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. I am a member of the Williams Honors College, RHPB’s Publicity Committee, and Emerging Leaders, as well as the Vice President of the Honors Residence Hall. In the short time I have been at UA, I have come to love the campus and the community. As a fellow first-year student, I understand the struggles that many of us face. I believe every student’s voice deserves to be heard. If elected as First-Year Senator, my main goals are to make sure students’ voices are heard, be an advocate for all first-year students, and help promote positive change across campus.
