Stark County Honor Court seeks Veteran law students for mentors – earn community service hours!

VETERAN MENTORS NEEDED!

 If you are a veteran and enjoy helping other veterans in need, Stark County Honor Court is in need of volunteer veteran mentors for its Mentor Program to assist veterans involved in the criminal justice system.

Stark County Honor Court Program for Veterans is seeking VOLUNTEER VETERAN AKRON LAW STUDENTS for its mentoring program. If you are interested in mentoring and would like to apply this volunteerism to your required Community Service Hours for Akron Law, please contact Alisa Benedict O’Brien (ab139@uakron.edu) for a brochure and further information.

Requirements:

 

  • Must be an Honorably discharged veteran of one of the branches of the United States Military
  • Must be in good standing with the law
  • Commit to a minimum of one (1) year of mentoring
  • Complete a one (1) day training on how to mentor with background check
  • Must be available for peer-to-peer mentoring every other Monday afternoon from 2:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. in Canton, Ohio
