Please join Professor Dana Cole from Akron Law and Libby Johnson, UMKC’s study abroad program coordinator for an information session about how you can earn six credit hours studying in Ireland and Wales from mid-May to mid-June 2016 through UMKC’s Study Abroad Program. Two information sessions will be held on Wednesday October 14, 2015 – one from 12:20 p.m. until 1:10 p.m. and the other from 5:30 p.m. until 6:20 p.m. Both sessions will be held in L-133.
Panera will be served! To ensure we have enough food for everyone, please RSVP to Angela Smith at email@example.com by noon today. Be sure to tell us which session you plan to attend.
If you can’t make it to either session but would like information about studying with Professor Cole and members of the UMKC faculty in Ireland and Wales, please contact Libby Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org or (816) 235-1584 or Professor Cole at email@example.com or (937) 219-1759.
The Law School is looking to have a co-ed softball team this summer. Dean Wilson will lead the charge and Prof. Spring will help with the administrative functions. We have won two championships in recent years. If we want to play in the First Session we need to register and have a roster together by May 20th. The First Session games will be Wednesdays at either 5 or 6 pm starting May 27th. It is recognized that this conflicts with some of our summer classes but hopefully we can prevail on the scheduler to give us more 5 pm games that will be over in time for team members to attend class afterward (games last approximately one hour) and we will have enough players to fill in.
The Intramural Office strictly enforces its rules and someone cannot just show up and play. If you want to play you need to be on the roster and meet the eligibility requirements (set out below) before the first game. If you want to play please email firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate your relative level of experience. We have been competitive (the leagues aren’t that good) with a mix of talent and experience in the past and everyone is welcome. It is good fun that is very collegial and it is hoped that we will have plenty of participants to field a team. The eligibility standards are:
Students enrolled in summer classes, in at least one (1) credit in any academic summer session(s)
Students not enrolled in summer classes, but who have purchased a full SRWC Membership for the summer
Students not enrolled in summer classes, but who are returning for Fall 2015 credits (and were also enrolled in Spring 2015) who purchase a Summer Intramural Pass for $5
NOTE: Students who graduate May 2015, or incoming students new to UA for Fall 2015, will NOT be eligible to participate.
First Year F-T and P-T students, please be advised that in an effort to keep the sections even, the Dean’s Office will administratively register you into your Spring courses. Please refer to the Spring Schedule Materials to see when your respective courses will meet.
Additionally, an enrollment hold has been placed on your accounts preventing you from registering for classes. You are required to attend one of the Mandatory Registration Sessions scheduled for Monday, November 17, 2014 at 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 12:15 – 1:15 p.m. Failure to attend one of these mandatory sessions will result in the enrollment hold remaining on your account preventing you from being registered for Spring courses by the Dean’s Office.
