The Office of Student Judicial Affairs is offering a unique leadership opportunity for both undergraduate and graduate students to serve on University hearing boards. Hearing Boards are a group of faculty staff and students that hear cases concerning the breaking of University of Akron’s Code of Conduct. After the case has been heard the Hearing Board will assess responsibility and will then apply sanctions to the accused.
Student Judicial Affairs is in need of highly motivated students who play an active role in our campus community, have excellent critical thinking skills, and a strong desire to uphold the educational mission of The University of Akron.
Students who are interested in becoming a hearing board member are encouraged pick up a hard copy of the application available at the 2nd Floor Information Desk in the Student Union or at The Hub administration desk in Room 130.

Applications should be returned to the Office of Student Judicial Affairs located in the Student Union, Room 216 and addressed to (Student Judicial Affairs, Attn: Kevin Crewson). Applications are due by 5pm on February 12th, 2010. Selected individuals must participate in interviews between February 22nd and February 26th. Decisions will be made by Spring Break and students will be notified by mail.
Selected individuals will be expected to attend two mandatory half-day training sessions on April 2nd and April 16th and agree to participate in a minimum of two hearings a semester.
