REMINDER:

ATTN: December 2013 Graduates and May 2014 Candidates

Please plan to attend the Law Grad Fair on Wednesday March 12th at any time between 2:30pm and 6:30pm.

You will be able to purchase your cap & gown (as well as class rings, diploma frames, graduation announcements, etc.), schedule or complete your exit interview with Career Planning, receive information and make a pledge or donation toward your class gift, purchase Akron Law related merchandise, and check in with Student Services to make sure everything is in order for your graduation.

I will also be on hand to answer questions you may have about the ceremony itself, which will take place on May 18th (details here).

I want to stress that this is the best time to purchase your cap & gown (approx. $135+tax).

Fall Entrepreneurship Course Information Session – Thursday, March 13th at 8:00 AM in Room 133

Did you know that many legal employers prefer to hire law students and law grads who have some business knowledge? Come and learn about a course that can help you gain that knowledge and stand out in the legal market! No prior business background/experience is required to enroll.

Professor Patrick Gaughan will discuss the fall Entrepreneurship Course open to law students and MBA students on Thursday, March 13th at 8:00 AM in Room 133. All are welcome to attend.

Free Intellectual Property Legal Resource Training by Bloomberg Law

Join IPTLA and Bloomberg Law on Tuesday, March 11 at 5:15pm-6:15pm in room W-210 for a free training session on Bloomberg Law’s Intellectual Property Resources. Aside from providing a comprehensive review of their many IP resources, Bloomberg will also be providing the attendees with dinner! This is a great opportunity to learn how to use a wonderful resource, especially for writing a thesis for the LLM.

The event will follow Judge Michel’s Oldham Lecture, which concludes at 5:00pm”

CQE Clinic Volunteer Training – Friday, March 14, 5:00pm – 1Ls welcome!!

Our next free Certificate of Qualification for Employment (CQE) clinic is Saturday, March 15!  We’re very excited to be providing opportunities for ex-offenders in Summit County to take a step toward gaining employment and independence!

We are looking for students to volunteer from 12:15p-4:45p on Saturday, March 15. The clinic will be held at Akron Urban League, 440 Vernon Odom Blvd. The time you volunteer can be applied toward your graduation requirement as pro bono limited means hours.

There will be a volunteer training on Friday, March 14, 5-6:15p at the law school. The time you’re at training will count toward your pro bono limited means hours as well. 1Ls are welcome to attend this training and volunteer at the clinic!!  Volunteers will also be needed to work at the intake table. This does not require you to attend the Friday training.
