Students – consider attending the 2014 Akron Law Alumni Weekend Events!

2014 Akron Law Alumni Weekend

The 2014 Akron Law Alumni Weekend will take place May 16-18, 2014. The weekend will feature the annual Akron Law Alumni Awards and Class Reunion Dinner (the “Alumni Dinner”), an Alumni Golf Outing, and the 2014 Commencement Ceremony.

The Alumni Dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. on May 16, 2014 at the Quaker Square Inn. Tickets are $25 each, but ten complimentary tickets are available for students on a first come, first served basis. Students interested in attending should RSVP to Michele Novachek via e-mail at manovac@uakron.edu. This is an excellent opportunity to meet and network with Akron Law alumni of many generations.

The Alumni Golf Outing will be held on May 17, 2014 at Good Park Golf Course. The outing will be formatted as a two person scramble. Tickets are $85 per person and include breakfast, golf, and lunch. Register online at uakron.edu/law/alumni.

Please contact Lia Thompson, Director of Alumni and Annual Fund, with questions at LiaThompson@uakron.edu or 330.972.5298. We hope to see you there!

I Need You! (to help with Commencement)

Uncle Sam Wants You!

I am looking for approximately 8-10 volunteers who are not graduating in May to help us out with the Commencement Ceremony as “Ushers.” We would ask you to arrive at 12:30 on Sunday, May 18th and stay until approximately 3:30 when the ceremony ends. You would receive general service Pro Bono hours for your assistance.

As an Usher, you would be primarily responsible for assisting the friends and families of our graduates with finding their way from the entrances of EJ Thomas Hall to the auditorium doors. You will also assist Judges and Special Guests with finding their way to Row F which is reserved for Special Guest Seating.

If you are available, please contact me, Anthony Colucci, by email to colucci@uakron.edu with your name and cell-phone number. I will follow up with more detailed information.

Thank you, and good luck on your final exams!

Room Availability During Exam Week

In an effort to provide more study space for students, we are making available to you the times that each of our classrooms is available for your use. There will be no official process by which you will be able to reserve these rooms, and availability is subject to change without notice. Additionally, if you choose to study in one of these rooms, please be out by the time it is marked as unavailable (blacked out). If needed, the Dean’s Office may need to ask you to leave a classroom at any time.

Please note: This is informational only. We will not reserve classrooms for study use. If you find one that is available and empty, you are welcome to use it. You must, however, vacate the room in plenty of time before it is marked as unavailable.

The sheet for each room will also be posted at the door of the classroom, and every effort will be made to update the sheets posted at the door. The copy that is posted here will not be updated, so please defer to the sheets posted at each door.  Please click on the link below to view the room availability sheets.

It has maintained its vigor by enrolling new members who want to learn and share information about ethics, public issues, and advocacy through the programs offered by the Inn.
