Akron, OH – Teaching Position – The Law and Leadership Institute, LLC
AkronLawJobs No. 5587 Overview: The Law and Leadership Institute, LLC (LLI) seeks law student teachers who are excellent presenters, organized, and reliable for the 2014-2015 Academic Year Program. LLI is dedicated to helping its students achieve success as future college and law students, and as leaders in their communities and professions. Teachers will receive $115 (before required withholdings) each teaching session for teaching 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade students. The 2014-2015 Academic Year Program will consist of a total of 10 five-hour teaching sessions (including a 1-hour lunch), 1 community event and 1 inter-LLI competition. The classes will be held on Saturdays commencing September 20, 2014 and ending in March 2015. LLI will provide:
•Curriculum, Classroom forms and materials •Class roster (after registration period is complete)
•LLI Evaluation materials •Plus, lots of support and encouragement! Teachers will be given curriculum to review in advance of the start of the 2014-2015 Academic Year Program and MUST watch a MANDATORY webinar curriculum review and complete questions demonstrating understanding of expectations.
Qualifications: Teachers must be law students in good standing and will be required to satisfy a background check. Prior teaching experience is preferred.

The American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers is pleased to announce awards to be presented for
(a) the best book
(b) the best publishable article, book chapter, or substantial book review
(c) the best student note or comment
on a topic dealing with consumer financial services law.

The awards include cash payments of $2500, $2000, and $1000, respectively, a Certificate of Recognition from the College, and travel expenses to attend the Spring 2015 meeting of the College. In any given year, depending on submissions, all three awards, or fewer, may be made.

Keep your profiles up-to-date on Westlaw and LexisNexis

At least once-a-year law students should update their profiles on Lexis and Westlaw.  Follow the instructions below to access your profiles.  Check your e-mail address and make sure it is the correct address.   The faculty may use the e-mail function in TWEN or Lexis Web Course to send e-mails to their students, but if your address is not correct, you will not receive the e-mail.  Also, verify your graduation date.  You do not want your passwords to expire prematurely.

Here is how you can update your profile on Westlaw and Lexis.

For Westlaw: Log into Westlaw http://lawschool.westlaw.com/ and on the left side of the page next to your name is the UPDATE link.  Click on that link to update your profile.

For Lexis: Log into LexisNexis http://www.lexisnexis.com/lawschool/ and under the Settings link at the top right corner, click on My Lexis.
