Deadline for Ireland/Wales Study Abroad is Approaching

The deadline to apply for the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law (UMKC) IRELAND/WALES STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM is fast approaching. The program runs from May 17, 2015 through June 12, 2015.

The early application deadline is February 28, 2015. Meeting this deadline will allow you to pay a deposit of $150 with your application to hold a seat. A second deposit of $450 is due March 2, 2015. If you apply after February 28, 2015 you will need to provide a $600 deposit with your application. The balance of $4,600 is due April 15, 2015 via a post-dated check for May 22, 2015 made payable to UMKC. APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL APRIL 15, 2015. All the supporting documentation must be received by UMKC by May 8, 2015. I DO NOT RECOMMEND WAITING UNTIL APRIL 15TH TO APPLY because of all the paperwork that must be completed, especially if you will be applying for financial aid.

For information about the program please visit http://law.umkc.edu/academics/international-programs/ireland-study-abroad/.

If you decide to participate in the program you will need to complete the following permission form and submit it electronically to The University of Akron School of Law Director of Student Services: http://www.uakron.edu/law/students/studentservices/docs/Study_Abroad_Permission_Request_Form.pdf

Once your request to assume visiting status is approved, The University of Akron School of Law Students Services Office will submit a letter to you and to the UMKC Ireland/Wales Program Coordinator, Libby Johnson. You will need this letter as part of your application materials for UMKC.

The UMKC application and the checklist of other required documents can be found at http://law.umkc.edu/academics/international-programs/ireland-study-abroad/application/.

If you have questions about summer financial aid or if you want to request a 2015 summer aid application form, please contact Cora Moretta at moretta@uakron.edu in our Financial Aid Department.

I hope you can make it to Ireland and Wales to study with me and members of the UMKC faculty. Please contact the Program Coordinator Libby Johnson at johnsonea@umkc.edu or 816.235.1584 if you have questions about the program. You can also reach me at dkc@uakron.edu or 330.972.7960.
