Help Professor Huhn Celebrate His Retirement, Donate to the 2015 Class Gift, and Help a Student in Need!

Today, Students Embracing a Legacy (SEAL), a grassroots organization, is launching a campaign to celebrate Professor Huhn’s retirement and you can join in!

On May 31st, 2015, Professor Huhn will retire after 31 years of teaching.  He is “stepping into retirement” by walking 25 miles through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park April 18-19 and will end his walk here at the law school the morning of April 20th – just in time to teach his last Con Law class.  Professor Huhn hopes students, friends, faculty, staff and members of the community will join him on the walk.  In his tradition of giving to others, Professor Huhn has pledged to donate $20 per mile he walks to the new Student Emergency Fund – the Class of 2015’s class gift.

In honor of Professor Huhn’s legacy and his dedication to public service, and to encourage others to follow his example, Students Embracing a Legacy, has developed this fundraiser, designed around his walk.  Their crowd funding campaign on Start Some Good starts today and is a way for you to follow Professor Huhn’s example of giving to others. (startsomegood.com/studentlegacy2015).

Donors will have the option of choosing whether they would like their funds to support the Student Emergency Fund or the Public Administration and Urban Studies Student Association Student Support Fund.  Information regarding both funds is available on the Start Some Good site and the group’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/studentlegacy2015.

Bonus for Graduating 3Ls:  Your donation to the University of Akron School of Law Class Gift for 2015 can be made through the Start Some Good site! Your donation via the link above will count toward your class gift donation and will be included in the graduation packet. Just choose to donate to any level of the Student Emergency Fund and SEAL will submit your name to the law school as a donor to the Class of 2015 Class Gift.  You can support Professor Huhn, donate to the class gift and help a student in need all with one donation!

Please visit their Facebook page regularly to discover how to join Professor Huhn on the walk and to support the students in the Public Administration and Urban Affairs college and the Student Emergency Fund.
