Dear Students:
We are in the final stages of hiring a Director of Admissions and Financial Aid. The hiring committee screened over 60 applications for the position and conducted initial interviews of nearly 10 candidates. We have narrowed the pool down to four finalists, and have invited them to campus this week.
Given the importance of this position to the law school community, we would like to all students with an opportunity to meet the candidates and provide feedback. As such, we have asked each candidate to give a short presentation/Q&A session (30 minutes) about how s/he would recruit students to the University of Akron School of Law. ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition
Dear Colleagues,
This weekend, six students represented the University of Akron School of Law at the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition regional in Boston Massachusetts. Justin Burns, Kait Crowder, Andrew Ledebur, Lyndsey Lee, Christopher Rice and Chris Uzunyan each performed well in the preliminary rounds. The Burns/Lee/Rice team advanced from the preliminary rounds and competed in several challenging post-preliminary rounds. I am delighted to tell you that they were one of the four winning teams in the regional competition, and will now advance to the National competition in Chicago, Illinois in April.
Please join me in congratulating the team members and their coaches, Professor Joann Sahl and Attorney Paul Zindle. We thank them for all their hard work to date and wish Justin, Lyndsey and Chris every success as they compete in the nationals!
